The Deputy Governor of RBI launches 'BankSoft' - Core Banking Solution.

Co-op banks told to upgrade technology

State IT and BT Secretary M N Vidyashankar has underlined the need for cooperative banks to go in for technological upgradation and acquiring the latest skills needed for operations in a changing environment.

“One of the major challenges before the cooperative banks is technology. In this era of private banking, with a host of foreign banks entering the country, banks which seize the opportunity of technological upgradation will be able to remain in the market”, he said while speaking at a seminar on “Current Challenges in Co-operative banking” organised by Processware Systems and Microsoft on Friday.

Mobile terminals make banking easier

Processware will implement its core banking software, BankSoft, in seven branches of the Krishna Bheema Samruddhi (KBS) bank in Mahbubnagar of Andhra Pradesh and Raichur this year. It is the only bank which is using PCTs. Sudha Cooperative Bank in Bangalore is using the PCTs on a trial basis now. Mr. A. Prakash, the Director of Processware says that the bank is likely to use them on a regular basis soon.

Fear over real estate sharks grabbing land in Mysore

KIADB criticised for indiscriminately auctioning industrial land The District Industries Centre in Mysore has urged the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) to expedite the process of acquiring land around Mysore before it falls prey to real estate sharks.

Speaking at a seminar on "Technology adoption for increased productivity" organised by the Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) and Processware Systems, a private company, here on Monday, joint director of the centre H. Prakash said real estate sharks were eyeing land around Mysore in view of the city's anticipated growth.
